I'm back in computer hell today as I try to figure out how to move files, to a new external drive, without breaking their links to my catalogue.
Don't have access right now to my recent photos so here is one, from a few years ago, that I just re-processed last evening.
@danette Synchronizing seems to do something else. If I have a a file of images that are connected to my catalogue and I add files to it, outside of the program, synchronizing will get the program to incorporate those into the catalogue (or so I understand it). I think what I have to do is to 'Locate' the files after I have moved them and re-establish the link. But then it gets confusing because I have some 'managed' catalogues which get dragged into the new location with the catalogue in tow and some 'referenced ' catalogues which stay where they are and have to be re-linked. Anyway, I'm working my way through it.. (I hope). Do you have experience with Capture One?
