It's been a good weekend for little birds. Along with the usual house sparrows I've been seeing a number of little chipping sparrows and, yesterday, saw two little white throated sparrows. These guys only seem to pass through this area in the spring, and in the fall. Most years, if I am paying attention, I can catch sight of them for a few days in late April or early May. They don't stay still for long and usually seem to hang out in the grass looking for seeds.
