@nannasgotitgoingon I did it in Photoshop but I started with a product called Vivid Illustrator. It's a Photoshop template which contains a number of different adjustment layers and masks. I'm not sure how familiar you are with Photoshop but, you add your original image as a smart object and then all those layers are applied to it and it comes out sort of like this. In the past I've tried Photoshop actions but not been too happy with the results. You kind of dropped your image into a black box and just got what it sent out to you but, since I've been getting more experience with using layers and adjustments, I find with the template I am able to go into the stack of layers and modify them to suit my image and vision and I'm getting results which make me much happier. I am a bit stymied by the fact that I am still using CS6, because I hate the whole subscription thing, and more and more products like this template are requiring higher CC versions of Photoshop.
