A very rare occurrence of a navy ship close to Warrnambool, but unfortunately 6pm and drizzling rain! However the reason was uplifting- the commanding officer diverted "The Melbourne" close to our shores to wish his godmother a happy 80th birthday :) The helicopter also did flyovers and let off a flare- all part of compulsory exercises while at sea, returning to Sydney from the Middle East.
