Canola with old windmill - no nymphs today! by gilbertwood

Canola with old windmill - no nymphs today!

I drove to Melbourne on Saturday and stopped at the same paddock of canola that the ballet nymphs featured in last week! This is what I set out to photograph last time. The nymphs weren't with me this time :)
Sam
I'm loving this! Where is it, maybe I should visit before it all turns to dust! FAV

@gigiflower It actually turns to seed Sam. Are you sure there are no nymphs in there Denise

Sam
@terryliv And what happens to the seed?
September 8th, 2014
The seed is used to make canola oil Sam

Nice shot Denise. We saw heaps of it last time down the newell highway.

I'm assuming us Brits call this Oil Seed Rape? Still beautiful to see at this time of year (when it's already been harvested in the UK). Love the cows in the background, added interest.

LOL...I like how in the very very back where the cows are it looks dreary..like you need to stay in the canola field to be all bright and cheery

@gigiflower @terryliv @peterlgrave @jillhempsall Love all these conversations going on while I'm uploading the rest of my photos!! Sam - these paddocks are along the Hamilton Hwy - sorry just before it near Foxhow, but there are a lot on the highway. The other lot are around Bannockburn and Teesdale.
Terry - thanks for answering Sam's question. I looked hard for nymphs but couldn't find them!
Peter - thanks for answering Sam's question too!
Jill - yes it is the rape - I think we just changed the name to something more acceptable!

Beautiful shot. I'm wondering if the Nymphs were responsible for beheading the windmill and maybe thats why they're missing? ;)
