Childer's Cove -the locals swimming hole

This beautiful cove is only about 20kms from Warrnambool but off the Great Ocean Road for 5kms. I lived out near it so it was a regular spot to go on a hot day and never many people there - only a few locals! You have to walk down about 60 steps to get there. Once there, you can swim or explore the rocks on each side. It was named after the wreck of the ship, "The Children" which came to grief here in 1839.

Another beautiful beach. This is certainly why it's called the shipwreck Coast. I always loved the story of the "Lock Ard" as well. A big fave.

@darthkitty @mbemis @cejaanderson @seattlite @tosee @cjphoto @terryliv @rosiekind Thanks all for wonderful comments and favs. it is a beautiful place and we have many other peaceful spots around our coast. Some for swimming and others not :) As for white pointers, haven't seen one yet - maybe the water is too cold!! I'm off to Melb for the week, which i forgot to say, so please excuse me as I won't be visiting here while away. Will try to catch up when I return :)
