I have a caterpillar and a rich melodious voice!

This is a grey Shrike-Thrush who has an amazing voice. My bird book says it is high on the list of the world's best songbirds! I'm quite excited to find one here at our Lake Pertobe as I had a pair on the farm who serenaded me regularly. They are not a shy bird either so would sit on the clothesline and sing to me :) If I whistled they would always reply. I'm happy today despite the chilly weather :)

It is, it is, as soon as I saw it I recognised it as a grey Shrike-Thrush. Absolutely one of my favourite birds - she's a little beauty! Lovely capture, I look forward to seeing more of her :)

We, have on occasions heard and then hunted and found a Little ( Rufous ) Shrike Thrush. They have a delightful song indeed,but shy. Great shot Denise, like the itchy grub in his beak :)
