Rocket launch...oops no, truck launch!

Had lunch in Portland today and was fascinated how the whole truck is levered up to unload it's load of wood chips! The brown "hill" behind is all wood chip. The size of all this is hard to capture :)
Rip rip woodchip
Turn into paper
Throw it in the bin
No news today

Very interesting. Didn't know they did this.

I too had to look at the picture for a while to get my head around what was going on. What an amazing system, must have been fascinating to watch. I was amused when I saw this after posting a picture of wood pellets being delivered to our house. Not quite on the same scale!

What a fantastic action image full of interesting detail, that pickup truck really adds scale to the operation Denise a great engineering solution to emptying the truck quickly, I for one have never see one like this before:)

@gijsje I think they are exported overseas to make paper items. Luckily they grow trees on big plantations and they are NOT cutting down our environment!

Wow, that's how I did it with my little Matchbox trucks. I had no idea they did it in real life too! Great capture!
November 30th, 2016
@milaniet There was no worry about timing - they did this for hours with 2 trucks always going up and down! And a line up waiting to unload :)
@stray_shooter Just a tad bigger than your Matchbox trucks :)
