Had an 18 hour day Wednesday to meet up with the in-law sisters & cousins for a day at the tennis in Melbourne. We were treated to Roger Federer (my favourite) and our Aussie Ash Barty play and win their games. We've been meeting for several years now but I had to make it a day trip by train.
What a wonderful record of your day, beautifully captured and presented in this collage format Denise, My niece lives in Surrey and attends Wimbledon every year she would be green with envy:)
In the 70's I was really into tennis and would sit on the floor for hours watching. Then the game got to be about power rather than finesse and I don't watch any more. But would have loved to go to the Australian Open or any of the Opens
Tennis without Roger is unthinkable, he's everyone's favourite and with good reason. Ash Barty's doing well, looks like we might finally have a woman who might do OK. Sam S was a great disappointment to me. I used to go to the Open with a friend but we struck a succession of stinking hot days, very uncomfortable even in the shade of RLA. Well timed to see Roger and Ash on the one day but must've been a long one including the train travel.
My walking buddy here in Arkansas is a tennis player - she doesn't miss much of the tv coverage of the Open here - even if that means watching at 2 in the morning with the time difference. Glad you had such a good day.
I'm watching Raonic and Wawrinka atm. Roger is my all time favourite!
