@julzmaioro@beryl Yes there is great excitement from many of us when snow falls in our area! And yes there were a few snowmen and several snowball fights going on :)
@julzmaioro@gilbertwood I remembered it snowed at my house in Wellington when I was 5 years old. I had to go to school, and my brother and neighbour got to stay home and play in the snow. Living on a hill I slipped over several times on my way to school. I was not impressed to be missing out on all the fun.
It didn't snow again in Wellington for another 35 or so years I don't think!
Snow is good fun...when it arrives in a reasonable rather than overwhelming quantity, provides an unexpected novelty...and doesn’t last too long. One of our early Winters here, when it was still a holiday home, there was an enormous quantity of thick snow on Christmas Eve. Driving to Midnight Mass was out of the question. We decided to walk. We needed to cross the main road to be facing oncoming traffic. There wasn't any! We actually crawled across the road on all 4s as it was lethally slippy...ice on snow. Thereafter we walked, stumbled in the ditch, 3-4 kilometers in the pitch dark. It was a scary hoot! Never had such snow since.
I can always send you snow during the winter!
In the meantime I will enjoy the summer! Lol
