Australasian Grebes by gilbertwood

Australasian Grebes

This has been a mighty challenge! !. It's the first time I've ever seen chicks. 2. They were out on a small island in the middle of Lake Pertobe. 3. They camouflaged very well in the nest. 4. They never swam over to our side! 5. And they are tiny!!
So this is the best I could do, even with a 300mm lens. And also what is special about them is that the chicks will get in under the adult's wing - an amazing sight if only I could capture it, with the little heads peaking out :) In the top photo you can see the stripy chicks getting in under the wings, if you study it hard!!
Wow...so cute. Lovely capture
