As a child I spent a lot of school holidays staying with my grandparents who lived in Cornwall. One of the things I loved was saffron cake from the local bakery. My grandparents have long since passed away but whenever I go to Cornwall, I buy a saffron cake to bring home with me. Brings back happy memories.
