Preloved

And now for something completely different.
I didn't feel like setting fire to anything today, so we went to the East End Beach market, where I happened to spot this Mini Clubman shell. Not for sale sadly.
Wow! I love this kind of photo, and this one's a beauty. This photo is well framed and effectively vignetted. The colours are rich, but realistic and your capture of the textures and shapes is spot on. More please.

That mini clubman was the first car I ever owned. I loved that car. I always wondered what happened to it...... great photo, evokes memories!

@golftragic thankyou, not much editing involved other than cropping and the vignette really
Thanks - my first car was a 1971 burnt orange mini, sunroof, white mags, spot lights, louvres on the back window....great car, great fun, would have another one tomorrow if I didn't have to go into a full lotus to get into it these days!!!

Retro style at its best. I would like to state that I am not aware of a mini clubman but I owned one once if my memory serves me correctly. Now I am really dating myself.

@peerden thanks - don't think of it as being dated, especially if you owned one of these, think of it as being tastefully aware of the past.

Love this. My first car was a black sit up and beg Ford Popular which we bought for £5 to move into our first home, couldn't afford the upkeep so sold it for £5! My favourite was. Vauxhall Wyvern. My husband tried to teach me to drive in it but it was column exchange and double de clutch where my paid lessons were more up to date so he gave up!!!

Love this image. My neighbor restores cars, and I've been eyeing off some rusty car bodies he has in the yard. Thinking of a way to ask so he doesn't think I've lost it.

@unfolding thanks very much - I didn't ask with this one, just clicked away...I think if I had to ask it would have been another fire day!

That's a great find and capture Graeme, but I'm sure your wife will be pleased that it wasn't for sale!

@shepherdmanswife thanks, and you're probably right...I only wanted to set it on fire!

@gigiflower they're a great car, loved mine to bits but now that I have a family and two retired greyhounds...well, impractical....
Thanks for the visit :)

Sam
A mini is NEVER impractical!

@gigiflower I'll keep that in mind as I drive off into the distance after having left those who no longer fit behind...might need to find a new place to live as well! :)
