Someone remembered to take their camera with them to work this morning - this was taken at Lucy's Gully which lies on the edge of the Egmont/Taranaki National Park. There was a rather hasty, brisk Southerly blowing as well, so I was very thankful that I was wearing fur lined underwear while in the shade.

I was also playing with a "new to me" fisheye lens which I think will take some getting used to, but I like this shot quite a lot and that's the main thing I guess!
I've tried this PoV with trees many times but I could never get it to work - you've managed it beautifully... but who are you kidding that the reason you wear fur-lined underwear is to keep warm.

Super capture!I I love the lines but my favorite part is the lighting! I love how the leaves seem to just glow! A fav! I didn't get why Richard was commenting on fur lined underwear....but then I read your whole comment section. LOL!

@vignouse Thank you very much, always appreciated...and it may be because I like the warm plush cushioning, but I'll never admit to that!
@carokennedy Thank you very much
@livvy Thanks, there are so many of these trees in this part of the park it was a tough choice on which ones to go for!

Really like this shot. It shows the magnificence of the trees, but somehow softens the how thing by having the stunning lighting at the top. What does the fish-eye lens do?

@jules13 Thanks very much, they are stunning trees - here's a link that can explain it better than I can: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisheye_lens

I'm liking and faving this a lot. Please more of these! This has beautiful colours and a fabulous pov. Can imagine this would look great large.
May 22nd, 2014
@ceilidh thanks very much - I think mine is more of a wide angle lens, but I've had a few practice runs with it and there's definite "curvature" depending on where the subject is
@newbank thanks very much, quite pleased with it too - seems odd to be outdoors though...

Fav. Wonderful shot of deep Forrest and bright sunlight. The lens really enhances this. And, fur lined underwear ? It's pretty nice here in Washington.
