Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to find the "unintentional skull" in this photo. I didn't notice it until I had downloaded today's shots, which were taken on Mount Taranaki as we walked from the Plateau to the Manganui Ski Field. This shot is taken at the base of the Manganui valley, affectionately known as Avalanche Gully...quite surprised to see a skull. Everywhere I go...
SOOC.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
Took a very long time but I found it eventually. It's in the dark area over on the right, just over half way up from the bottom.
Nice scenery including the skull!
I can't see any skulls but trust you to find one. It's a great shot anyway and I like the way the dark areas frame the lighter mountain beyond. Maybe you could tag it for the current technique challenge which is framing. Just tag it technique29. I admit to having an interest because I'm hosting the challenge.
@aecasey@shepherdmanswife You're both spot on. Unprocessed, SOOC, and there it was...trust me...and thank you very much. @tomtom Right hand side, on the rock face just over half way up...and thanks very much @dh Thanks, and tagged appropriately. Didn't even know that was on...and it's on the right hand rock face, just over half way up... @shannejw Thanks very much - and I am now that I know it's on!
@brigette I know! And thanks very much :) @dh super! :) @newbank Thanks very much - it's on the right hand black rock face, just over half way up @hermann Thanks very much :)
@lynnilou Thanks very much :) @gigiflower It was a balmy, sub tropical 4 degrees. Delightful. @longexposure Yeah, that would be it ;) You're welcome back anytime - they were saying you were quite well behaved. @lilminimonka Thanks, I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing... @wearing0 That would be it...a pleasant surprise @happypat I'm just pleased it's not just me! And thanks :) @livvy I think it was just a lucky break with the rock formations - and thanks very much @blueberry1222 well that's just cheating. And exactly what I would have done. @eyeamlisa Thanks very much @nicoleterheide Thanks, that's "our" mountain @andy3168 thanks very much :)
I see lots of faces, a wide smiling one just in the middle, one, a bit of a monkey face looking up in the sky, oh and yes a skull to the right. Beautiful mountains, would love to hike there one day.
@dougapic Thanks very much :) @overalvandaan Thanks very much - there's loads of tracks and huts up here...didn't see all of those faces but now I have to hunt for them too.... @ceilidh Thanks - we're pretty damn lucky @cdh365 Thanks very much
I haven't read above comments yet because I wanted to take a gander for the skull and left it until this morning so my eyes could focus - I see two faces - one top left and one bottom centre bit to the right - bottom reminds me of skull top more of a gorilla
it looks like an amazing place - and your image is awesome
Middle bottom snowy bit? Nice work. I took a great SOOC shot the other day and still had to screw around with it in processing. I may still post SOOC, but we'll see.
