This morning I was forced into driving to Hawera in South Taranaki to measure and take some readings from a pipeline installed at a clients workshop. True to my style of living life on the edge this was an excessively dull operation for a Monday morning, made even worse by the sheer gall of the people in offering me an instant coffee!!! Outraged and unsettled I left the area without further delay or conversation and stopped in Stratford to consider my options. That's also where I took this shot of Mount Taranaki, or Mount Egmont if you prefer. I shot the bird.

I think shooting the crass yokel who served you plastic coffee would have been appropriate. But this is a wonderful shot with the bird in flight and the gorgeous mountain. Fav.

Tip: take a flask of decent coffee with you and offer a cup to your host! I usually have tea when visiting as drinking instant black coffee is not my thing either! Lucky you travelling in this landscape, great shot of snow topped mt Taranaki. Hope the bird tasted good. And hope you are in love with your Mac!

To be honest, we're still waiting on Adobe to get their backsides in gear and approve the student version of Lightroom for us so that we can actually use it...that's the hold up. Awesome shot of the mountain. Sad to hear the bird was sacrificed because of substandard coffee. Not being a coffee drinker I do not comprehend how or why people are so irrational and reactive when they don't get their caffeine fix.
One can only hope that the sight of such a stunning mountain and bird (to boot) made up for the offer of plastic coffee. I have no qualms about admitting to being a coffee snob!
