This shot is neither inspired by nor dedicated to some (one) of the excessively racist, bigoted, narrow minded people that I know, but rather caused by them (him).
I don't have much to say about it as I am not a Drama Queen (despite appearances) but some things just "grind my gears" or, if you prefer, "rip my ration book".
If we could stop relying on hatred, selfishness, intolerance and contempt to drive us and instead try being human for a change then I'll gladly hand out Hip Hip Hoorays and High Fives to one and all.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
oh I wish we could change - I really want to see you dressed up and handing out high fives and hip hoorays - just once mind you - then back to normal - I could definitely use this version of you though - I was decidedly out of sorts after a couple of conversations yesterday - love it btw
Great and crazy picture, but it is the words that give the picture its greatness. Bigotry and racism are sometimes blatant, but more often they subtle, and sometimes the subtle bigotry and racisim can be more damaging...all of it needs to be done away with! Fantastic post. Fav!
First of all, awesome composition and photograph; which is what we've all come to expect and rely on from you. True artistry. Second, I praise your words and support them wholly, as I am father of two wonderful bi-racial children, aged 30 and 27. Fatherhood is father hood regardless of the DNA of the child.
Well said...and well photographed. Nicely done Graeme. You always tell a story which is always very inspiring even tho sometimes a bit disturbing =)...and I agree...There is no room for that kind of thinking anymore blatant or subtle...We all SHOULD be able, in this day and age, to just get the bleep along and get rid of the ignorance. UGGH...
Anyway, as always...well done! AND...hoping to see that tutu one day...hopefully not on fire!
@deak68 Thank you very much, greatly appreciated :) @harbie Thank you very much:) @cindyloo Thanks...I may even burn it while wearing it! @angeliekevl Thank you very much, appreciated @eyeamlisa LOL, thanks...not sure I'd look any good in a kilt though! @ukandie1 Completely agree, and thank you :) @rosiekerr Thank you very much indeed @bigugly I completely and utterly agree, and thank you very much. @miata2u Thanks very much - a woman's work is never done. Probably because I finish while they're still gossiping ;)
@mzzhope Thanks very much :) @taffy Thank you, much appreciated @cindyloo Thanks :) @gigiflower I am as calm and sedate as ever... @kali66 Oh? I'm intrigued...or should I not be?
Well said Graeme, racism is especially rife here in South Africa and I hate the instant labels that get applied to "them"! I encountered it just this weekend from people who I don't expect it from.
It pushes my buttons too and feel like you look! Great way to portray your anger.
Oh yes, I´d drink to that but some people are just beyond hope, and there are people here too that make me feel the exactly like you do. Powerful stuff, you do express your emotions well; the anger is evident here.
@dibzgreasley Thank you very much. Very few things really, really get me going, but this is one of them! @susale Thanks very much - nobody is perfect but a little tolerance goes a long, long way @yaorenliu Thank you...is it to late for me to start a party of my own? @overalvandaan Thanks very much...very hard to capture an exploding me, the fuse is far too short
@newbank I dislike the sun. Down here it burns and burns - in summer our weather forecast on TV not only lists the temperature but a burn time as well, usually a matter of minutes in the middle of summer. Factor 50 is a given even when wearing wearing a kaftan and sombrero.
@graemestevens The more I hear of the weather in NZ and Oz the more I like my British weather. Wet, cold, miserable, hint of sun, wet, dry, hint of sun, wet, cold, miserable, summer for 5 days, wet, cold, snow, snow, slush, wet, cold, hint of sun through clouds....
This is more like you...the well behaved chap we saw the other day must have been an illusion . High fives & hip hoorays......never in a million years! NZ is a very relaxed place so what you would be like in a mad city space out in the proper world I dread to think! Perhaps some Camomile tea might be good?
@amandal In this shot my weapon of choice is my fists ;) @happypat Thanks very much - we did live in London (or just out of) for 7 years...loved the city...and I never drink tea!!! @denisefuller I'm sure I'd think of something! @johenn Thank you kindly ;)
:D feel this,, When I read your description probably even more so, my partner is of Indian heritage born in Canada and I am white British, we get our fair share of comments :(
Like my Grandfather would say - you cant educate pork.
Excellent shot! I really like the bright white background! You look ready for battle, Braveheart-style!
Anyway, as always...well done! AND...hoping to see that tutu one day...hopefully not on fire!
