I thought I'd dig in the garden this morning to check on the progress of the sheep head that I had buried in there last month (after setting it on fire). There have been some developments in that it now has a vile stench to go with it, along with a rather sheepish grin. After picking it up I get the distinct impression that, like me, the skin and muscle is not far away from just sliding off the bone. Delightful.
Best viewed against the black of course and possibly not at all for those of a delicate disposition.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
In some cultures disturbing a grave is serious sacrilege! I would have had a photo in retort, but I just threw away the charred doll from the other night's sacrifice for your birthday!
@eyeamlisa It's even worse when you consider that I had to pull it's lips back to get that grin... @panthora Burn something anyway! @rocketman1066 Sometimes I even disgust myself.
It does seem to be happy there. That really must be putting out a stench. It can't be as bad as a dead person though (that hasn't been discovered for a whole that is). That's a smell that sticks with you :)
@terryliv Woof woof. @karlow75 I've used lime to cover the smell and help with decomposition...as for the dead human, I've only seen fairly fresh ones so I'll have to take your word for it!
@ukandie1 LOL...nothing at all? @mzzhope Yep... @gigiflower Oh oh...did it have mixed vegetables in it? @anazad511 LOL, I have a feeling that most will...
on first glance it was "oh what the frick has he done this time?" then I saw that grin and laughed - then reading you pulled the lips back to get it - well that is dedication - oh you are disgusting and that is awesome! hahahaha love it!
@gigiflower The only way I would drink that concoction is not. @bigugly Sorry about that... @annied I am a disgusting, barbaric heathen. @spikez It's only a little sheep...or was...or is it still? I guess it still is... @terryliv That's how we roll... @eyeamlisa Terribly sorry - won't happen again...
morbid, gross, dramatic. Photo is well composed & b&w is good choice, but simply can't fav this one. And now I have to stay up another hour or so to have a prayer of getting to sleep.
@annied You should see me eat...a hangi.... @nikkilee Sadly I didn't get the rest of it...if I did it would be in the freezer though! @johenn Question...did you expect anything less from me? ;) And good luck with the sleep...
@graemestevens "less" is never in the equation with your work. It's all stunning...using all definitions of the word. It is now after 2 AM so I'm not going to look at that thing again, and am signing off for the night.
@golftragic Yep, not nice... @overalvandaan Hmmm...not the nicest thing I've ever seen. Or dug up for that matter! @johenn Sweet dreams! And thank you :)
Oh I know, but we have nosey neighbors that call the cops if you park in the yard, or your dog barks while in the backyard, I'm guessing a sheep head would possibly give them a heart attack along with a phone call.
Okay...I admit...this is not something that I like seeing. But it is dramatic and artistic and uncomfortable -- all part of being artistic. Can't ever imagine it hanging on a wall, except maybe in a gallery showing controversial art!
Oh my goodness me.......looking at this after scrolling down from a pretty flower was a real shock to the system!! Personally I would rather have the sheeps head but that's just me! Those teeth are just vile.....the smell must be horrendous......I pity your poor unsuspecting neighbours who must think their drains are blocked!
Fantastic experiment though!
@shannejw You're probably right...I'm qualified in neither and didn't want to call it Gardening! @rachelwithey That should do it... @wearing0 Thanks - after the stench it will stay buried for a while yet... @spikez We used to have neighbours like that, then I started setting fire to things... @jocasta Thanks very much - I'll probably dig it up again in another month and see what's happened! @ceilidh It was a vile stench to rival them all! @tatopaz Thanks, it's lying in the wet earth of the garden...and I've buried it again as well so that I can dig it up in another month and see what's changed. @taffy Thanks, I think. It will never hang on a wall until it's just skull... @happypat Luckily for my neighbours I've used lime to cover the smell!
Oh my Godness, I echo @taffy; not something I enjoy seeing but I can appreciate the artistic value. I also appreciate pics that arouse strong feelings in me, good or bad.
I hope you never want or need to change jobs Graeme... employers these days usually run an internet search on potential employees... you have been warned.
@joemuli Oh. Sorry. ;) @susale Thanks...I think. I know what you're saying though. @cocobella Sorry about that - I hope it wasn't anything too extensive! @ingrid2101 Thanks - I'll dig it up again in another month and see whats changed! @vignouse I'll be okay if it's a job at an abattoir!
