Because I ducked...
Ducking hell, that was terrible.
So was that.
I do apologise.
Anyhoo, enough of this jocularity...this was taken at Barretts Domain, which is a large area of native bush/woodland right across the road from home. I often walk the dogs through there and natural flora and fauna abounds, just begging to be attacked with a machete and flame thrower, to be replaced with concrete and steel. Luckily for us that will never happen as it's a protected area and comes complete with a "lagoon" and the site of an historic maori pa.
And some ducks, swans, tui, fantail and undoubtedly a vast collection of things with 6, 8 and more legs.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
Seen this close with the good focus its interesting to see each feather is rimmed with a pale colour. Wonderful design - wasted on a duck, not wasted on a photographer!
@golftragic I agree wholeheartedly, and thanks a ducking lot ;) @juliedduncan Thanks very much :) @maggiemae It is a miracle of design but I can't help feeling that this duck would look a lot better with some cucumber, onion and hoi sin sauce...om nom nom...
oh dear I think the teenagers have sent your brain into a ducking spiral - I hope you can recover - I have these ducks come swim in the pool - they fly in quite quietly and the dog doesn't notice anymore due to her failing eyesight and hearing so they swim about merrily.
Beautiful reflection and detail - suspect joke and I love Peking Duck as long as I am not on photographic terms with said duck hahahahaha
@taffy Thanks very much, very much appreciated. @hermann Thanks very much, it's not ducking bad at all ;) @angeliekevl Thank you very much @nanderson Nothing like a nice duck...thanks very much @amyleewinfield Thanks very much...I was itching to set in on fire but hey ho... @annied Ducking ducks, they're ducking trouble makers. @northy No ducking way, I know how how big they are! @eyeamlisa Thanks very much :) @kt8ird Thanks very much...it has it moments. If it's been raining it horrible, thick, deep mud on the tracks and there are large things scuttling in the undergrowth... @maggiemae Well yes...unless you like to floss as you eat... @bigugly Thanks, it's not ducking bad ;)
@annied Me too. Ducking hell, ducking duckers. @ceilidh Thanks very much :) @newbank 'Twas delicious...the children in the park were somewhat upset at the time and may need counselling, but they didn't have to watch me wade in and catch it. @dide Thanks very much - it was a clean kill.
@graemestevens of course they were - and you have been conspicuously absent for most of today - no comments or such - a busy Sunday I take it - or have you just avoided me hahahahahahaha
@annied Not at all, it was a busy day - lawns mowed, shopping done, parents over tea, friends around...and still I feel like I've accomplished nothing!!!
@lwain It is a great place but no, no more legs... ;) @andy3168 Thanks, thought it was a quacker as well... @chippy1402 I know...I'm lying low and I have may have gone slightly quackers ;) @ukandie1 As am I ;)
@tellefella Thanks very much - I think I've gone quackers @shannejw Thanks very much - not my usual style... @jess1204 From a nice, simple photographer ;) @amandal Thanks very much, I've gone ducking quackers... @bill_fe It ducking does doesn't it? @joemuli Thanks very much @harbie Thanks very much :)
Love this, I'm a sucker for puns! Such a wonderful photo, the quality is spot on! I'm sure this was worth ducking out for! It's a quacker of a shot! :)
Oh duck, I can't cope with this sort of photo from you. It's just not right. So please, go and get ducked and never do this again or I will ducking punch you in the face.
@gigiflower@annied Sales people are an interesting breed of creature in their own right who often deserve to be told all about ducks. What, prey tell, are they selling?
@annied@graemestevens HAHAH "hitsheds" - took me a moment but I finally got it. They are selling NOTHING Mr S, that is why I called them stupid duckwits. If they where selling SOMETHING, then we would be making our budget!
@annied@gigiflower I'm not a common sales person thank you! One happens to be a Territory Manager, which basically means I spend all day marking my Territory and running it with an iron fist.
@juliedduncan Thanks very much :)
@maggiemae It is a miracle of design but I can't help feeling that this duck would look a lot better with some cucumber, onion and hoi sin sauce...om nom nom...
Now I want to see something with "more" legs ;)
