In these times when redundancies are shearing through the business like a chainsaw through a rotting corpse, when those around you are falling like flies and you're hanging on by your fingernails, waiting for the hammer to fall, it is distressing, deeply inappropriate and highly unprofessional of the National Sales Manager to send an email to all staff with the opening line of "It is my pleasure to inform you all that my consultation period has come to end and as a result I am delighted to inform you all that I shall remain as National Sales Manager."
After gauging the reaction within the business - those of us who remain - it would be fair to say "tread carefully."
Greatness dies
Unsung and lost, invisible to history
I am on to you, the time has come
To end your Supremacy.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
@amandal That is my favourite knife and it is not only excellent for opening packages in a hurry but also for procuring the services of unsuspecting strangers at midnight...and thank you :) Also, no problem :)
We have an office where it's OK to cock up to the tune of about £50,000 but they will moan about a £8.99 bottle of wine but hey Well done on your pay rise, Pass me that knife I think I might need it :-)
The unthinking prat....don't say anything though, he might reap revenge! Surly no one will dare think of making you redundant....not after seeing this anyway! Keep hanging in there!
I'm fav'ing this because I understand the sentiment exactly. Hubby had the 'consultation' process going on for months, and stressed the entire time. When he got redundancy 2 weeks ago, it was almost a relief just to know where he stood.
Oh yes!!! I fully understand this emotion... and your excellent shot portrays your sheer anger very well. If I was your newly appointed National Sales Manager I would run for the hills!!! Fav ♥
@tabarlett I dare say there are countless people that are thankful for the same thing ;) @lorenaavalos Indeed :) @ukandie1 Thanks - I think ;) @jsw0109 There is I guess...hadn't looked at it that way! @vignouse Terribly sorry and my apologies to whoever does your laundry! @chippy1402 You can have it once I'm done - and I know exactly what you're saying as we have a very similar culture @voiceprintz Thank you thank you thanks you :) @happypat That's very diplomatic way of putting it...and no, not saying a word ;) @homeschoolmom Thanks very much - I'm thinking they should be seriously worried ;) @888rachel I know what you mean - there have been days where I'm left hoping for it to happen!
@archielogical Yes, I should stop dithering :) @bigugly Thank you very much - if I hadn't been so tired when I took this it probably wouldn't have worked! @kali66 Many wouldn't...maybe I should invest in a "nicer dicer"... @taffy Thank you very much indeed :)
@golftragic Thank you very much and sorry about the laundry ;) @rustymonkey Thanks very much - not being Halloween has never stopped me before ;) @tw Thank you very much :)
Very powerful and angry. My partner went through the same stress. The managers that did the consultations didn't even follow the right procedures! So he fought that battle too. Stressful. In the end it's about money and not about the individual. Fav!
@888rachel sorry to hear about hubby. Hope things work out for him and you all. Husband was made redundant with immediate effect one morning 20 months ago when his company went into administration. Stressful times indeed. Wishing you all the best.
@lisatown Thanks very much - bit of both I think @overalvandaan Thank you very much - I have a photo for you tomorrow as well... @newbank You're not wrong there
As always, awesome shot. And a fave. Sometimes these people do get what's coming. Our bosses at the brigade tried to drag us through court to strip us of our EBA so they could dictate what they pay us, and to close stations whenever they see fit. We won, they wasted $21M of taxpayers money doing it too. And the even better news is that if all goes well the current government is about to be tossed out (the people trying to pineapple us), and the promise from the new government is that our management will be given the ass. It will be a great day. They will get theirs. And yes, we have also had very cynical and one sided emails from them too.
@nicoleterheide Thanks very much ) @denisefuller Well, why not... ;) @karlow75 Thanks very much - good ol' management sometimes has a lot to answer for @shepherdmanswife I'm always in a bad mood ;) @overalvandaan Well...you say that now, not too sure I'm happy with it but it will do ;) @annied Thank you kindly nice lady, I do so enjoy being called evil and foreboding ;) @tonygig Thanks very much - best place to keep it really...
@newbank Thanks so much Ruth. I hope your hubby found a new job quickly. My hubby had been working for the same company for 23 years, so I think it's a bit of a shock.
