Fly My Pretty, Fly! by graemestevens

Fly My Pretty, Fly!

My mother always told me never to play with my food, even if it wanted to play with me. I'm assuming that because I'm now finished with this, at least in the sense of it being food, that it's now perfectly acceptable to have a 'play date' with it.
Is this the thing from the garden?
November 22nd, 2014
Let me be the first to fav it.
November 22nd, 2014
A nightmare of a bird with teeth on its wings!
November 22nd, 2014
@newbank Not the one from the garden - this is one of my other ones. That doesn't sound good....anyway, thank you very much :)
@maggiemae I know...not quite sure how I'd feel about it flying around the garden...
November 22nd, 2014
@graemestevens others from the garden? What else do you have rotting under there..... What do you do with them when they're not being photographed? Do you have dead animals on your walls?
November 22nd, 2014
@newbank I've got the other skull buried int he garden, these two jaw bones and skull, a possum skull and I 'found' another one yesterday that will make an appearance in due course...just waiting for it to be ready...
November 22nd, 2014
@graemestevens we saw a rotting corpse on our walk this week, my hubby wanted me to take a photo of it, my response was " I'm not Graeme Stevens!"
November 22nd, 2014
I think that could be a compliment?!
November 22nd, 2014
Sweet. Love it.
November 22nd, 2014
Wow, amazing composition. You have amazing skulls!
November 22nd, 2014
@newbank LOL, I've been debating about posting a shot of the dead baby birds I found earlier this week...
@bigugly Thanks very much :)
@jess1204 Why thank you ;)
November 22nd, 2014
Wow, I just find this beautiful, can't help it. Looks like a very special dinosaur.
November 22nd, 2014
Fav! Darkly compelling
November 22nd, 2014
Cool shot.
November 22nd, 2014
My semi naked body is sitting next door to your skull...
November 22nd, 2014
@newbank that's sounds very creepy....
November 22nd, 2014
I looked, I saw, I said "It's Graeme" ... and it is! Unique and striking.
November 22nd, 2014
a new species ....fantastic discovery
November 22nd, 2014
Well if this is one you dug up before all I can say is it was worth every bit of rotting...quite beautiful!
November 22nd, 2014
@overalvandaan Thanks very much :)
@northy Thank you very much, always appreciated
@ukandie1 Thank you kindly :)
@newbank That does sound creepy...I'll see if I can live with it
@aecasey Thank you very much :)
@tellefella It's an archeological wonder!
@happypat Thanks very much...it's not the one I dug up before though, that's still there. Must have a look though...
November 22nd, 2014
That's just fantastic, even better on black.
November 22nd, 2014
Lee
Blimey O'Reilly. Endless possibilities.
November 22nd, 2014
Wow great shot!
November 22nd, 2014
Inspired, absolutely inspired... and awesome viewed on black. This may be the best yet Graeme. Fav? You betcha... several if I could!
November 22nd, 2014
Oh, and the title is darkly malevolent... I can almost hear the evil chuckle.
November 22nd, 2014
@vignouse Thank you so much...and yes, I was chuckling...
@pamknowler Thank you very much :)
@gamelee Thanks very much...and yes, the possibilities are endless...
@countrylassie Thank you so much :)
November 22nd, 2014
Very cool shot! I really like this a lot! Comes from my fascination with dinosaurs and bones growing up! FAV
November 23rd, 2014
Awesome shot. I personally don't have a problem with playing with my food. I find it makes it more tender. That's also why I like to massage my wife's liver, I think I may need it to replace mine one day.
November 23rd, 2014
@harbie Thank you very much :)
@karlow75 Thanks very much - I could probably do with a new liver myself one of these days.
November 23rd, 2014
What the heck kind of "bird" is that? Super shot! Love the high contrast against the black. I'll fav it! :-)
November 23rd, 2014
Love your shot, but food?? Really? Now that is creepy
November 23rd, 2014
@newbank Laughed out loud at this, tried to explain to Jim...not successful...

Looks like a dinosaur, Graeme -- what exactly do you grow in your garden?
November 23rd, 2014
So fab, viewed on black... as if it is coming directly for me. Lovely bones. :)
November 23rd, 2014
@eyeamlisa Thanks very much...and it's one of those birds.
@trinda Thanks...there was meat on them at some point in the past...
@taffy I'm not telling what I grow in my garden... ;)
@rosiekerr Thank you very much indeed :)
November 23rd, 2014
Very cool shot. Glad all the meat is off it.
November 23rd, 2014
Sam
I think there is a Pterodactyl in your garden :)
November 23rd, 2014
Ha ha as soon as I saw this on the trending page I knew instantly whose it was :-) Great shot.
November 23rd, 2014
@888rachel As am I...and it was delicious :)
@gigiflower There's more than one old dinosaur out there....
@leanne333 Am I that predictable? ;) And thank you very much :)
November 23rd, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens It's a cool word - Pterodactyl. A silent P. I love it
November 23rd, 2014
@gigiflower I like words like that as well. So much so that I enjoy enunciating the silent letter very clearly just to see people's reactions.
November 23rd, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens I like to ask people to spell it. Knowing that 99.9% won't be able to. And then I come across a smart arse 4 year old who knows more about dinosaurs then me. Then I want to kill him
November 23rd, 2014
Interesting...... did it taste good? Looks great on black
November 23rd, 2014
I'm not so keen on skulls really... but this is such a strong compelling image. I like it.
November 23rd, 2014
@gigiflower I want to kill all 4 year olds. My daughter was very fortunate to make it past that age.
@deliad Thanks very much...and not so much on the taste scale...
@brigette Thank you very much - this is what comes from being bored out of my tiny mind....
November 23rd, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens Oh, 2 of our kids didn't.
November 23rd, 2014
@gigiflower Oh. Now I feel super....shit.
November 23rd, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens LIAR again ;) And I'm not telling the truth - I love 4 year olds. They are so smart and witty. Pushing boundaries. Better than any other age!
November 23rd, 2014
@gigiflower In this case, no. But you're right, they are pushing boundaries. And buttons. Little duckers.
November 23rd, 2014
well this is a big big big big big fav for me - in case you are not quite getting it - I LOVE THIS!!!!!!
November 23rd, 2014
@graemestevens hahahaha i enunciate incorrectly too - one of the many things I do to see the reaction
November 23rd, 2014
Ow wow,,, scary and yet endearing. LOVE THIS! absolute fav, x
November 23rd, 2014
Great set up and shot Graeme...
November 23rd, 2014
Georgia O'Keeffe eat your heart out:)
November 23rd, 2014
@gigiflower @graemestevens I think in the UK 5 year olds are the equivalent of your 4 year olds.....
November 23rd, 2014
@annied Well, this is a big big big big thank you from me :) And I like your enunciating style ;)

@amyleewinfield Thank you so much :)
@tonygig Thank you very much indeed
@joemuli I must stop copying....
@newbank None of them become bearable until they hit their 30's ;)
November 23rd, 2014
Really? I'm quite partial to my 2 year old. It's dreadfully quiet without him. I become the strange lady who talks to herself when in the supermarket without him... My 5 year old is great to. I didn't know how to turn the volume on on the ipad this morning for littlest. He had such a knowing look and voice when he showed me how to do it....
November 23rd, 2014
Wow, this is crazy goooood!!!!!
November 23rd, 2014
Flying creature straight from the twisted imagination of someone from the dark side!
November 23rd, 2014
Just awesome! :) Delightfully creative. uuummmm...you do know this little guy can't fly with mandibles as wings, right?
November 23rd, 2014
@newbank Not really - I do like them, I'm just being a miserable old tit that complains about everything. Please don't tell anyone.
@susale Thank you very much :)
@ceilidh That would be...it's great fun over here!
@voiceprintz Thanks very much - sadly I do know that but given time I'm sure I can come up with something!
November 23rd, 2014
Awesome still life.
November 23rd, 2014
@newbank @graemestevens
try a whole class of them at any age then you may rethink hahaha
I have 10 and 11 year olds at the moment
Hahaha
November 23rd, 2014
@annied I go into reception class for an hour a week.... I love it! All week..... Now that's another thing!!
November 23rd, 2014
Jae
Never thought to do this with the bones!
November 23rd, 2014
@andy3168 Very still life...and thanks
@annied @newbank Rather you than me
