Blown by graemestevens

Blown

I have no time for anything remarkably creative today - apparently it's Christmas and we must be prepared for every eventuality, including the imminent apocalypse. This a strobe light bulb and if you wish you may view it as my concession to Christmas lighting. If you get it going fast enough you can induce seizures in even the most hardy of carol singers.
Please, quickly send me a dozen.

I do like how the light is going through it and hitting the counter top.
December 23rd, 2014
There's always got to be a flasher in the best of carol singers!
December 23rd, 2014
Looks a bit Frankensteinian - I like it!
December 23rd, 2014
I have the Carol Singers sussed, My main gates are locked and no one can get up the Drive, "humbug"
December 23rd, 2014
@tonygig I like your thinking. I've electrified the door handle as well.
@juliedduncan Thanks very much :)
@maggiemae Under normal circumstances it would be me, but (and this may come as a surprise) I don't do carols.
@bill_fe I thought that was quite cool as well...and this is the only one I have. Perhaps we could work out a roster?

Fabulous capture,
December 23rd, 2014
My goodness, stalking carol singers, locking gates as per Tony gig. Yikes. We are going bush and soon. Love your contribution to Xmas lights.:)
December 23rd, 2014
@graemestevens Maybe just send the flashes as an email attachment, and I'll hang them outside my door.
December 23rd, 2014
Neat bulb. Very intricate! Merry (Happy) Christmas!
December 23rd, 2014
Ah the Christmas apocalypse is happening with you too. Have you got 4 gallons of water per person stored, and access to a generator with fuel? It is getting unbearable up here. Shouldn't this be a fun relaxing time........best wishes.
December 23rd, 2014
@spanner You would think so...we only have a dozen wine bottles and some cake. We may not make it through but I wish you the best of luck.
@eyeamlisa Thanks very much and same to you with knobs on
@bill_fe Why not...it wouldn't be in the Xmas spirit to not share
@hermann Thanks very much - we're going bush soon but not soon enough
December 23rd, 2014
@bizziebeeme Thank you very much
December 23rd, 2014
Since you don't flash carols, you should stick to flashing kim...those dozen bottles of wine might lead to sloppiness in that regard. I like the crop and lighting of the light. Glad tidings.
December 23rd, 2014
Only you Graeme!!
December 23rd, 2014
@voiceprintz Merry whatever to you as well...and thanks very much :)
@ceilidh Yes indeed...I am one of a kind

Sam
To have the opportunity to take a photo of this, may actually mean that you do have Xmas lights at home! Go on tell the truth Mr Stevens - you have 10,000 of these lights in your front garden and hold Xmas lights celebrations every evening for your neighbours! You invite them over for a bbq!
December 23rd, 2014
@gigiflower Yes, you're right. I admit it. We use them to lure the unsuspecting mortals into the garden and then throw them onto an open fire...call it a BBQ if you will...ahhh, the smell of roasting flesh on a hot summers night...
December 23rd, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens Except there is no such thing as a "hot summer night" in NZ
December 23rd, 2014
@gigiflower Good point...we think we're suffering under a desert sun when it hits 20 degrees
December 23rd, 2014
@graemestevens is I assume equal to the smell of napalm in the morning hahahaha
@gigiflower
may you both be as joyously festive and drunk as you wish to be !!!!!!!
December 24th, 2014
@annied One of my very favouritist aromas...
And I can't speak for @gigiflower but I am, and always will be, just as drunk as I wish to be.
December 24th, 2014
Is this a lightbulb photo for when you lack a lightbulb moment?
December 24th, 2014
Seizures in carol singers... what a sight. The details and light are very good, by the way. Enjoy the holidays, as your can. Best wishes to you and your family.
December 24th, 2014
@deliad It should be - it's been far too busy today for anything more useful
@rosiekerr Thank you and straight back at you - be safe, be merry, and have a good one. I can't believe I just said that.
December 24th, 2014
I can't believe this doesn't have a fave yet. Even just for the mental image of a someone singing annoying carols having a seizure. It sure put a smile on my face.
December 24th, 2014
@karlow75 Thanks very much - you should see them when they knock on the electrified front door
December 24th, 2014
@graemestevens haha, now that would be a great shot ⚡️
December 24th, 2014
I can't decide ( for once ) if you genuinely don't like Christmas or are just keeping up your persona. You did put a shot of a bee. You are as is confirmed a soft puppy hearted gentle man. Hmmmmm..... I just can't decide. Maybe I will have a lighting moment of clarity soon.
December 24th, 2014
@newbank Hey hey hey, less of the soft puppy hearted gentle man please. I have reputation to protect here you know ;)
December 24th, 2014
As your title says it is " blown" and I will take that it mean that there will be some bones in your body that will enjoy tomorrow. Even if they are the tiny ones in your toes.
December 24th, 2014
@newbank We have lunch at Kims parents followed by tea at my parents...Boxing day is the big fun one for us. We usually have about 18 - 20 people over for a BBQ and drinks and last year there were also 14 retired greyhounds present as well...far more relaxing than the real Christmas day ;)
December 24th, 2014
Ha, I can just see you trying this out on some unsuspecting carol singers!
December 24th, 2014
@888rachel absolutely!
December 24th, 2014
Simple but really effective.

I hope you have a great Xmas Graeme
December 24th, 2014
Hope you manage to find some festive spirit :-). Happy Christmas
December 24th, 2014
@andrewkru Thank you and you too :)
@roseolivia Thanks very much - don't tell anyone but it's been here all along...one has a reputation to protect though... ;)
December 24th, 2014
cool old bulb.
December 24th, 2014
@blueberry1222 Thanks, just a lucky find
December 25th, 2014
Have a great Grinchy Christmas Graeme.
December 25th, 2014
@golftragic Thank you, I believe I will ;)
December 25th, 2014
I like the shadow!!
December 28th, 2014
