Homeward Bound

Sorry, but it's another mountain shot, this time taken on the drive home today.
In other news I seem to have developed a dirty sensor overnight so tomorrows jobs will include cleaning as this shot has a lot of cloning and healing in a few spots (pardon the pun). Sigh.
I think I saw that cloud away down in Dunedin - the land of the long white cloud! Not the same good light as yours!

Sem
it's very cool though, especially the clouds around the mountain.

I've had a dirty sensor for ages, that's why I seldom shoot above f5.6, I am laziness personified

@semjaja I have so many sports in so many different places I don't think I can avoid it...liking your style though.
@maggiemae When is there not cloud? ;)
August 13th, 2015
@graemestevens When its clear blue sky and not a cloud in sight, Graeme! Come south!
August 13th, 2015
I love this picture as it is, enough to give it an unreserved fav. I hate perfection :)
August 13th, 2015
Just beautiful!

Sue
Beautiful Shot.
August 13th, 2015
@sioux Thank you very much :)
@ounooi Thank you kindly :)
@mothermalarky Thanks very much - bleedin' frustrating though!
August 13th, 2015
Very nice.
August 13th, 2015
Seriously - what a hideous place!
August 13th, 2015
Nice moody shot - I'm not surprised you're seeing sensor spots at f/25 and, probably, some diffraction distortion as well.
August 13th, 2015
A beautiful layered image :)
August 13th, 2015
even better on black, great shot
August 13th, 2015
@hermann Thanks very much :)
@vignouse More than likely, but with the sun right in my face at 4.30 and being in a rush to get home to my other half...well...let's call it a rush job at the side of the road.
@spanner I vomit in my mouth a little bit every time I look at it
@dide Thanks very much :)

Camera sensors and beaches often don't get on well together … and the beach always wins. Weather sealed cameras and lenses, particularly primes, help to reduce the problem. It really is the perfect archetype of the lone mountain.
August 13th, 2015
@yrhenwr From experience I can tell you that you are 100% correct. Still, cleaning is therapeutic. Especially when someone else is doing it.
August 13th, 2015
Do you clean your sensor yourself? I have the same problem at the moment and I haven't quite decided what to do about it yet. Nice shot btw.
August 13th, 2015
Really fab. Fav.
August 13th, 2015
Awesome layers, another superb shot. I also have to clean my sensor. It has a rather annoying spot on the top left.
August 13th, 2015
Shite I see colour in the thumbnails....will catch up on this outrage when I get home
August 13th, 2015
Beautiful capture...Fav
August 13th, 2015
Love it too and totally agree w/@mothermalarky
August 13th, 2015
Wonderful layers... can't see anything wrong with this shot! :)
August 13th, 2015
Such beautiful panorama
August 13th, 2015
great shot
August 13th, 2015
wow this is gorgeous! love it as a panorama!
August 13th, 2015
Not sure what a 'dirty sensor' is? How do you recognise it and how do you clean it?
August 13th, 2015
@whimsicalgrateful I've paid to have it done once, but since then I've gone and bought the kit myself...seems to work
@nickspicsnz Thank you very much :)
@karlow75 Mine has about 15 spots...sigh...and thanks :)
@annied It is an outrage, pure and simple
@tonygig Thank you very much :)
@joemuli Thank you very much :)
@rosiekerr Thank you very much - that's because I cloned and healed, and then did it again!
@susale Thank you very much :)
@denisef58 Thank you kindly :)
@nicoleterheide Thanks very much :)
@alinz It's the sensor at the back of the DSLR, usually spots on the shot...clean it carefully. You can get professionals to do it but I got the kit myself last year
August 13th, 2015
I don't know how you put up with views like this day a tear day. It must pose a terrible hardship for you. Fav!
August 13th, 2015
excellent. I've got a cleaning kit too. I'm too experienced with the issue. My D7000 had a known problem. I have already had to clean the camera I got in April though.
August 13th, 2015
Love the way the summit seems to be floating. So, I should be cleaning my camera?
August 13th, 2015
Have you climbed the mountain? or is it like Edmund Hillary height? may be he's been up there , he was from around there was he not?...
August 13th, 2015
I like the pano you've created. Very effective.
August 13th, 2015
Stunning view of your mountain ........a real cone shape that is unmistakable!
August 13th, 2015
I agree with everybody above. Really great image. I hate cleaning my sensor, but it happens...
August 13th, 2015
@lsquared Thank you very much - I did it this morning over breakfast, so it's probably full of toast crumbs now...
@happypat Thank you very much, and yes, I like to think of it as MY mountain ;)
@taffy Thanks very much :)
@jack4john He was a kiwi but I'm not sure where he was from...and yes, I've been to the top...great view until the clouds come in...
@rachelwithey Thanks - that's what I thought too...
@bill_fe I don't clean it enough, but then I quite like the grainy look with processing ;)
@janiskay I usually drive around with my eyes closed...
August 13th, 2015
@graemestevens ahhhh! I wondered!
August 13th, 2015
Love those layers of clouds!
August 14th, 2015
@harbie It was like that for most of the day, then about 20 minutes after I took this, completely clouded over
August 14th, 2015
when did I fav this? hmmmm
August 16th, 2015
@annied I have no idea, I'm too tight to pay for Ace
August 16th, 2015
@graemestevens haha yep noticed ....think it was after a few ciders :)
August 16th, 2015
Fav!
August 17th, 2015
@overalvandaan Thanks again :)
August 17th, 2015
Very nicely layered shot! Now, let's talk about that sensor cleaning... how long does it take you, and is it a relatively painless process....and, are you afraid of damaging the sensor at all?! Really hard to keep the camera clean, inside and out, when most of your shots are at sandy beaches...;-((((
August 22nd, 2015
@panthora It takes about 30 minutes, so you need a fully charged battery. I went and bought a proper sense cleaning kit and it seems to do the job properly
August 22nd, 2015
Stop making these wide shots. They don't fit my mobile screen.
August 24th, 2015
@mastermek Turn your screen the other way ;)
August 25th, 2015
@graemestevens Thx!! Marvelous tip.
August 25th, 2015
@mastermek Now you sound like my wife...
August 25th, 2015
Oh thanks again. I was just beginning to think we could fit through the same door ;-)
