Tweet tweet? Yeah...Nah.

The only explanation available for this sort of behaviour is that there must be a new cat in the neighbourhood. None of the other local cats dare to venture in to my garden, instead opting to take a route over the roof tops in the full knowledge that should they set foot on the ground inside my boundary two extremely fast greyhounds await.
Poor little bird. Nice clear shot!

@kwind Thanks very much - it's not too bad, I'm about to get another very small bird skull with minimal effort involved ;)
November 25th, 2015
Oh, how fortuitous, a new skull for you! But, what's with the color?
November 25th, 2015
@bill_fe It was certainly a stroke of luck - as for the colour, I have no idea what happened
November 26th, 2015
This is sad... any life snuffed out is sad.
November 26th, 2015
o no! Great comp but o so sad
November 26th, 2015
@vignouse Agreed, especially as he (or she) can hardly have been doing anything to irritate said cat
@carla42 Thanks very much, and yes
November 26th, 2015
Im glad that you save the bones. It is good to see her life not go to waste.
November 26th, 2015
Sad......
November 26th, 2015
Poor little fellow.
November 26th, 2015
@kategoring Ah yes, but a new skull for me ;)
@frantackaberry Nature is a hard mistress
@aprilmilani I get most annoyed with the cats - they're not even hungry!
November 26th, 2015
Don't show this to Gareth Morgan. The quality of this shot is so good and he would love to have it as a poster.
November 26th, 2015
With nest and all
November 26th, 2015
How sad
November 26th, 2015
@shepherdmanswife Nature is a bitch sometimes
@mastermek Yes indeed, no sign of eggs though
@yaorenliu Thanks and no, wouldn't dream of it
November 26th, 2015
Aww, so sad.
November 26th, 2015
You sure it's not just resting or pining for the fiords. :)

Cool shot.
November 26th, 2015
Poor thing...poignant with the nest so close but offering no protection.
November 26th, 2015
@taffy Indeed, but I guess that's nature and I'm certainly not about to argue with David Attenborough ;)
@swillinbillyflynn It's not reacting anymore. Cold water maceration has begun to that I can get at the skull!
@nickspicsnz Yes, but that's nature I guess.
November 26th, 2015
That's nature, no cats in our Garden also, Paddy as all on letting me walk in it...
November 26th, 2015
@tonygig It is indeed, I dare say this one will get caught in the act eventually
November 26th, 2015
Perhaps the greyhounds know something about it......I see house & bird both done for! Lovely detail of feathers & nest!
November 26th, 2015
no doubt it's little skeleton is neatly stowed away in the Stevens house, maybe with the cat's scull beside it...
November 26th, 2015
@jack4john I'm still waiting on the cat but the bird is definitely well taken care of
@happypat Thanks very much - I have asked them but they had surprisingly little to say
November 26th, 2015
Bloody cats!!
November 27th, 2015
Something tells me it isn't only the cat's who avoid your yard.
November 27th, 2015
@joansmor Most people avoid i too
@golftragic Abso-damn-lutely.
November 27th, 2015
Sad, but beautifully captured.
November 27th, 2015
I'm mean of course by you, not the cat.
November 27th, 2015
@overalvandaan LOL Thanks very much
November 27th, 2015
Nice capture of death
November 28th, 2015
@photographycrazy Thanks very much :)
November 28th, 2015
@graemestevens I take it your dogs don't chase the murdering monsters. Maggie takes great exception to any feline that dares to set foot on her patch.
November 29th, 2015
@golftragic Generally speaking my dogs are too busy sleeping, but when they do spy one...let the games begin, and at high speed
