I'm away from home again on business, this time at the other end of the island...I've almost forgotten what home looks like but I'm sure I'll figure it out. This is Duma, a wolf who is in the care of the UK Wolf Preservation Society, where I used to visit on a regular basis. It was taken some time ago, but I don't care. So there.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
I had to check where Graeme Stevens actually lived with this photo! Got it!
No wolves in the area! He looks rough and wild but not aggressive - but we can't see his teeth!
@maggiemae No wolves here but we lived in the UK for about 7 years... @northy I hope so, although I may have forgotten my address anyway...and thanks @golftragic I certainly don't, and thank you :) @harbie Thanks very much - I wasn't allowed any closer as I was wearing leather and had been around other more "ordinary" dogs that day...
Love it
wolves are beautiful and should be preserved...
i enjoy watching the documentaries about the ones they reintroduced into Yellowstone about 20 years ago....you probably didn't want to know that...but I don't care...so there:)
What a beautiful animal. It's sad how they were driven out of many places and given a bad name. In many cases they help balance out the whole ecosystem.
Lovey shot. Notice how his far eye appears to be a bit more open than the near one, he looks a bit like a nice dog here, but probably just as well that you and your leather 'skin' didn't go any closer.
@kategoring Thank you very much - and yes, agreed @joysabin Thanks very much - this might sound a bit of a cliché, but when his eyes are open you could easily get sucked in... @kerosene Thanks very much - he'd have to be cool to be around me ;) @gardencat I was never going to get closer, but yes, they're always alert on some level @elytra I completely agree and have always loved them @ruiigreja Thank you so much :) @hermann That's one of us then ;) @annied I can live with that little factoid, they are my favourite creature, there's something about them @juliedduncan Yeah well, I'm just as hairy @julzmaioro This was taken when we lived in the UK, I used to spend far too much time (if such a thing is possible) at the UK Wolf Preservation trust @pamknowler Thank you very much :) @dibzgreasley Thanks very much :)
@tonygig Thanks very much. Not that I know why I'm saying that, the wolf got beautiful without any help from me. @blueberry1222 Looking that way but alert none the less...
