This is the second of four "salvaged" shots from my recent and somewhat abysmal foray in to film. It has been many, many years (I'm not about to define how many) since I have used film and certainly never on a camera that is 20 years older than I am.
This is the Pagoda in the "Japanese Gardens" at Pukekura Park, built to honour New Plymouth's sister city of Mishima in Japan. New Plymouth also has another sister city, Kunming in China...but our noble councillors obviously believe that one garden with a vaguely oriental theme should cover all bases - all other rates money that is garnered under the guise of promoting our sister cities in New Plymouth is actually spent on airfares and accommodation for the select few councillors who get to visit said sister cities.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
It does have a period look having recently looked at some 50s photo albums of my Mum, including embarrassing shots of yours truly. Might explain a lot. Politicians are the same the world over🤑🤑🤑🤑
I'm glad that councillors/government are the same all over the world. In saying that this pagoda does look very Japanese (I can say that because my sister in law is Japanese so I *know* these things!)
@golftragic Thank you and yes, they do seem to have that in common... @shylaine3304 Thank you so much :) @gigiflower I bow most humbly to your superior knowledge ;) @rachelwithey Thank you very much :) @kali66 There's nothing to be done but sit back and hope for the best...having said that I had obviously hoped for the worst on the ones that didn't make the cut. @theboxmanreturns It certainly reminds me of my youth...
This has such a sense of place and history -- due to your processing. And it is interesting to see another side of how you see the world. I like the result here.
@scotthouston It does indeed...personally I think it's used as an excuse for junkets by council members ;) @annied That can't be helped @adayinmallacoota Thank you very much :)
@domenicododaro Thank you and yes, it seems an almost pointless relationship...
@humphreyhippo Wait for tomorrows...
@salza I think that's what I like about the way these look
