not my normal thing (2)

This is the second of four "salvaged" shots from my recent and somewhat abysmal foray in to film. It has been many, many years (I'm not about to define how many) since I have used film and certainly never on a camera that is 20 years older than I am.
This is the Pagoda in the "Japanese Gardens" at Pukekura Park, built to honour New Plymouth's sister city of Mishima in Japan. New Plymouth also has another sister city, Kunming in China...but our noble councillors obviously believe that one garden with a vaguely oriental theme should cover all bases - all other rates money that is garnered under the guise of promoting our sister cities in New Plymouth is actually spent on airfares and accommodation for the select few councillors who get to visit said sister cities.
Well I like it.

The sad story of sister cities... moody atmosphere!

Find myself scanning the shot trying to find the ghost.

@newbank Well, I thank you ;)
@domenicododaro Thank you and yes, it seems an almost pointless relationship...
@humphreyhippo Wait for tomorrows...

It looks like it was taken many moons ago! Prewar times springs to mind. Guess we have all become rather reliant on the digital process.

I love it. Reminds me of some of the landscape work of Sally Mann and her collodion process. Very cool.

@cjoye Thank you very much :)
@salza I think that's what I like about the way these look

It does have a period look having recently looked at some 50s photo albums of my Mum, including embarrassing shots of yours truly. Might explain a lot. Politicians are the same the world over🤑🤑🤑🤑

a lovely structure, i enjoy the letting go that film brings, there is nothing for it but to accept the image as it comes.

Love this

Sam
I'm glad that councillors/government are the same all over the world. In saying that this pagoda does look very Japanese (I can say that because my sister in law is Japanese so I *know* these things!)

I love this!

Sounds like councillors and pollies the world over. Love the old-world feeling of this shot.

@golftragic Thank you and yes, they do seem to have that in common...
@shylaine3304 Thank you so much :)
@gigiflower I bow most humbly to your superior knowledge ;)
@rachelwithey Thank you very much :)
@kali66 There's nothing to be done but sit back and hope for the best...having said that I had obviously hoped for the worst on the ones that didn't make the cut.
@theboxmanreturns It certainly reminds me of my youth...

Nice one!!

Somehow, time is rolling back to 1945.

@yaorenliu My powers are increasing...
@kwind Thank you kindly :)

This has such a sense of place and history -- due to your processing. And it is interesting to see another side of how you see the world. I like the result here.

@taffy Thank you very much - my favourite is yet to come but you have to wait until Saturday :)
January 5th, 2017
Even more natural and organic looking. Definitely need to do an "old" picture.
January 5th, 2017
@ahleena My favourite is coming up...after tomorrows when we all get to go ghost spotting ;)
January 5th, 2017
Great old feeling to these shots
January 5th, 2017
I like this too
January 5th, 2017
Interesting shot. I would have thought the Japanese would have been offended at the Chinese sister city, and vice versa; seems a bit of an odd mix.
January 5th, 2017
@scotthouston It does indeed...personally I think it's used as an excuse for junkets by council members ;)
@annied That can't be helped
@adayinmallacoota Thank you very much :)
January 5th, 2017
I could tell right away it was film, nicely done!
January 5th, 2017
Much better results than what I had with my return to film.
January 5th, 2017
@bill_fe Thank you...still needs improvement
@grizzlysghost Thank you very much :)
January 5th, 2017
Sure has a vintage feel. I like it very much... the best of the three so far.
January 6th, 2017
@yrhenwr Thank you very much - you should like tomorrows finale then
