gun slinger

Anyone who is familiar with Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" series should pick up (hopefully) on the inspiration for this image. Those of you who aren't familiar with it, why not? They have always been a favourite of mine so you have no excuse.

This is also another one for the current technique challenge of "High Key Portraits"...
Read them three times! If I wasn't so busy taking pictures I would read them again brilliant stories. Your shot would fit nicely on a front cover. Fav :) Wishing you long days and pleasant nights Gunslinger ;)

Loving your processing here Graham. Is this PS? I would like to watch you create one of your images from beginning to end. Fav ! Better check out those books!
March 2nd, 2017
You know what, I've never read any of Stephen King's books, I think I need to now, it's never too late. Love the background with the tower!
March 2nd, 2017
great processing...as usual
March 2nd, 2017
Sen bloody sational. I think Stephen King needs to pay for you to his Artwork for his books.
March 2nd, 2017
so great! You crack me up
March 2nd, 2017
Great one for the challenge, and I am one of the have nots when it comes to the book!
March 2nd, 2017
But are you the Gunslinger or the Man in Black? The tower is a great touch.
March 3rd, 2017
I loved the books, just not too sure about the way it ended! Great photo.
March 3rd, 2017
I am not a Stephen King fan but I am a fan of this photo.
March 3rd, 2017
Fabulous, creative image

@photographycrazy Thank you very much :)
@nicolecampbell Thank you very much - much appreciated
@dkbarnett They were something quite fabulous, and thank you!

@ukandie1 Thank you very much - give them a try...
@irisn Thank you very much :)
@deborah63 Thank you so much - I'm sure I could bring myself to take his money :))
@hrs Thank you very much :)
@overalvandaan Thank you very much - the Dark Tower series aren't his usual horror stories...they're not horrors at all...
@pamknowler Thank you very much - this isn't PS, it's LR then in to PicMonkey for the background and then back in to LR for some finishing touches...and then it makes it here ;)
@rjb71 They are a fantastic series, I'm a many time wanderer through them as well, and "thank'ee sai" ;)

March 3rd, 2017

March 3rd, 2017
oh - and I know and have read the series - so don't be smiting me
March 3rd, 2017
@annied Run for the hills? Unless they're coming from the hills, in which case run away from the hills...
@gigiflower Um...no. Shudder.
March 3rd, 2017
blimey. he's back with a bang
March 3rd, 2017
Striding towards me. Where can I hide...?
March 3rd, 2017
Very Westworld (IMHO). Is a room in your house set aside for costumery?
March 3rd, 2017
@graemestevens I'm going to hide under the hills
March 3rd, 2017
Great capture and processing for "The Dark Tower."
March 3rd, 2017
BOOM!
March 3rd, 2017
You are amazing, that's all!
March 3rd, 2017
@dibzgreasley I'll take that with a pinch of salt but say thank you anyway ;)
@shylaine3304 Thank you kindly :)
@lynbonn Thank you very much :)
@scotthouston I've never seen that (gasp). As for the costumery...no extra space required, mainly because I actually wear these clothes out as well...
@ceilidh You should know the answer to that by now...nowhere ;)
@pistache Indeed - I'm quite pleased with this one :)
March 3rd, 2017
And here I was thinking it was Barad-dûr. ;)
March 3rd, 2017
Kas
Fabulously high key! I once read an SK book - and couldn't sleep. and then there was 'Misery' - scarred forever!
March 3rd, 2017
@wag864 The Dark Tower series is far from horror...trust me ;)
@humphreyhippo That's my summer home ;)
March 3rd, 2017
Nice one ....... But are you the man in black who flees across the desert or the gunslinger who follows? I've counted the fingers........

I must confess that I am not a great Steven King fan but the Dark tower series just got me hook line and sinker. I read the entire series in two weeks which is quite an achievement for slow reading dyslexic like me. :)
March 4th, 2017
@swillinbillyflynn Depending on the day of the week I could be either one...but it's more likely to be the man in black...
March 4th, 2017
This may be the best 'scene' you've ever created... wonderful work.
March 4th, 2017
Fab shot and edit Graeme...
March 4th, 2017
@tonygig Thank you very much :)
@vignouse Thank you very much :)
March 4th, 2017
fav... fabulous creation!
March 4th, 2017
@lynnz Thank you very much :)
March 4th, 2017
Fantastic overall scene. I agree with Scott re Westwood. I have read numerous Steven King books but cannot for the life of me remember the Dark Tower series. I shall have to look them up.
March 4th, 2017
That's a lot of stuff going on around your neck! Very Victorian appearing.
March 4th, 2017
@blueberry1222 That's how I roll... ;)
@salza Thank you very much - never seen Westworld but will have to have a look I think
March 4th, 2017
This, Sir, is fucking brilliant!! Of course I read The Dark Tower for the first time in the 90s...
Just curious...how many of your pics have you sold so far?
March 5th, 2017
@tabbycat Thank you very much - as for how many I've sold...a whopping great 2!
March 5th, 2017
@graemestevens Well, methinks you could def sell a LOT more and/or be exhibited if you really want to...
PS: Nice legs!!! ;-)
March 5th, 2017
@tabbycat The plan is to exhibit later this year, funds permitting...we have gallery space and just need to get off our bums. As for the legs, I've had those same ones for 46 years now...
March 5th, 2017
I can be gone for two months, come back, and you never disappoint. Your images are enormously creative and wholly original!
March 5th, 2017
@jyokota Thank you so much :)

March 5th, 2017

March 11th, 2017
@skipt07 Thank you very much, much appreciated
March 11th, 2017
Haha! The fact that you like to read Stephen King is not surprising! LOL! If I read that I'd have nightmares for the rest of my life. Great picture, though. Congrats on making TT!
March 14th, 2017
@homeschoolmom Thank you very much - this series isn't a horror at all (mostly) but yes, it's no surprise that I like his books ;)
March 14th, 2017
"All things serve the Beam," especially this! Awesome recreation, Graeme! Makes me want to reread the series. Maybe this summer . . .
