I like my bananas green. I do not like them yellow, nor can I appreciate them in this state of disrepair. Having said that, I suspect that soon this cocooned wee beastie will miraculously transform itself in to a beautiful cake (he said optimistically).
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
I'm with you. I like them a little green, as well. When they get like this, I peel them and put them in a plastic baggie in the freezer. They taste like ice cream when you eat them frozen. So much yummier than the real banana.
I like my bananas just having turned yellow without a single spot on them. This one would be thrown into the freezer for a future smoothie or as you said some wonderful banana cake/bread!
Apparently black spotted bananas are sweeter, more nutritious and fight several health issues - so they say and I read it on Facebook so it must be true - lol. I reckon banana cake is the best way to eat them though - I hope you get your wish.
Did you realize people are that particular about their bananas? I like mine just as they turn yellow, but my kid needs a minimum of 8 spots on them before she will even consider looking at them. As you mentioned this banana is only good for one thing "baking". :)
@joemuli You can tell a lot by the way a person eats a banana... @psychographer In that case, just throw them at passing strangers... @northy LOL. That is all :)) @blueberry1222 I have no basis for comparison as I've never tasted cardboard ;) @taffy It's nearly there...and we never have chocolate chips in our house as "someone" keeps eating them @novab As far as I'm concerned they're a lost cause as soon as the first hint of yellow arrives... @paul10 eating a black banana is so very very wrong... @overalvandaan Cake is always good! @joannakate As do I, although I'm not holding out much hope... @kiwinanna Facebook seems to be a reputable source of factual research so why not... @gigiflower Nope. Green or nothing. @harbie A smoothie might be nice... @golftragic I don't...I shall have a word to the chef... @homeschoolmom Pleased I'm not the only one!
When flecked with brown, I mash with peanut butter, add a few raisins then spread thick on toast. I can't look at a photo like this without thinking of Banana Bread & Nico.
