This wasn't my intended target for today but as I turned around from my original picture I saw this little guy and he became my new picture of the day. I like his camouflage "eyes"
Hmmm... I have no bug photos yet and you have been taking pics less than a week and already have two! Maybe I need to branch out a bit. Although you probably have more bugs there than I do here. :)
@marilyn There is definitely a better opportunity for bugs here I think. I was worried about posting another one so soon but I just shoot what I see if it interests me. Maybe I have a problem!
Saw this on the "new faces" page. I've recently found a couple of these and had no idea what they were so, started researching.....the internet is wonderful! :) ..... it is an Eyed Elater. Eyed Elaters are large click beetles, salt and pepper in color, which have large “false” eyes on their pronotum (the area just to the rear of the head). If a click beetle is placed on its back, it will first “arch” its back and then suddenly straighten itself out, sending the beetle airborne and producing an audible click in the process
