It is getting to be harvest time in the south. I wanted to catch a field at sunrise and still might but there are no guarantees when the harvest starts and so I might miss it. For now this will have to do.

If you have never been in a cotton field or hand harvested cotton you can't really appreciate the phrase "standing in tall cotton." Most of it is waist high or lower and harvesting it used to require being bent over all day long, so anyone standing in tall cotton didn't have to bend over, hence the harvesting was easier.

I don't believe I've ever seen a cotton field (except for in Gone with the Wind, of course!) I too would LOVE to see a cotton harvest!

Oh my i couldn't do this. my back alreay starts aiking when I stand still a long time or just bending over..I guess its old age creeping up slowly.
might also have to do still with my car excident july 28 or was is 29. you can read up o it if you go to that date or shortly after.
