sooc
With the temperature at 38F, I was cleaning the leaves out of the skimmer in our pool this morning ( a never ending task....love the shade in the summer, hate the work in the fall) and when I got to the bottom I felt something that didn't seem to be leaves. Sure enough this little guy had taken up residence there and was about half dead. I quickly ran for the camera and took a couple of shots then placed him near a pond in the garden where he will be much safer. When I went back later he was gone so I hope he hopped into the pond for the winter.
what a found!! i love that you brought him back to the pond...-such a touching story !) Is he such a big one, or you just made it very close?
and you're quick to take a photo!:)))))
@nyusha He was about half as big as my fist. I just got really close. I am a crazy lady when I see a picture idea. I RAN back into the house got the disc out of my computer put it in the camera and ran back outside hoping he was still there. My family makes fun of me because I try to save all God's creatures (except mosquitoes) whenever I can.
wow, half of the fist is still a lot)) we don't usually meet frogs like this here, usually very tiny ones:)
and you get so close to him!))))
maybe he was not half dead - but half asleep, just for winter? or they do not do so..-i'm not sure))
i also resque every creature, since childhood, haha)))
this is what i told you i like a lot about your project - that you're never lazy to make a shot of everything that is around in your life, it's great you do it!!))
@nyusha I think this might be a toad which is still a frog but they tend to have bigger bodies.. I'm not sure why he sat still so long and allowed me to get so close. It was probably a combination of things. I knew i liked you and rescuing animals is only part of it.
I appreciate that you think I am not lazy with my shots. I just like to make it interesting for me AND those who follow me.
This is a great shot... as you well know by the high praise you have already received. :) There is just everything wonderful and nothing not good about it! Fav for me, too!
