Crossing Guards by grammyn

Crossing Guards

I go by these crossing guards a couple of times a week and thought they would be a good subject for my new goal of taking more photos of people. I got there just as they were finishing up for the day!

Nice candid shot, Katy. I think you have taken some great people shots :)

What a great candid photo, Katy. They both are so clear, down to her fingers and his glasses. Love this in B&W. So very nicely done.

@marilyn Thanks so much. I was in my car parked at the corner they usually work and almost missed them because of my timing so was really glad to get them both in one shot!

@darsphotos Thanks,Darlene. It was luck to get them both in the same shot. I am used to having more time to set up my inanimate shots! ;~}

@espyetta It was the end of the day and the beginning of our spring break and I am not sure they were happy I was taking their photo anyway!

March 26th, 2012
@espyetta What kind of plans do you have and how long do you get before you have to go back?!

On reading the comments, perhaps they're cross (i.e.angry) guards as well as crossing ones Katy :-) lovely work on this - the B&W really works.i think the road on the left hand side is a lovely feature.

@jennwearing LOL! You are way too kind in you assessment of the shot and spot on with your evaluation of the guards. Funny you should pickup on the "cross" part. My grandmother used to say that all the time and my children thought it was such an old fashioned expression.

..each one on their way home..opposite direction... you're doing great with your new found subjects.
March 26th, 2012
@bruni It means so much to me that you like them ,Bruni. Thanks!

I have a goal of more people too. It's hard to break the habit of NOT photographing people. And so I find I still look to scenery, but I have a few very interesting people shots from Washington DC trip with Anne that i'll post soon. This is nicely done and the B&W is a nice touch.
