College Tour

I took my niece to Tuscaloosa today so she could visit the campus. This is one of the buildings we saw on the University of Alabama campus.

The Gorgas House was built in 1829, two years before the university opened, and was the first structure on the University of Alabama campus. It is also one of the few campus buildings that survived the Civil War.

A beautiful pov, Katy! Gorgeous architecture ... I think that they really knew how to build back then ...no "cookie cutter" architecture like we have today. Good luck to your niece!

Wow, what a gorgeous photo of this very old building, Katy. Nice that you were able to take her to check out this campus. Amazing how well kept this building is for its age and the area around it.

Beautfiul shot .... my stomping grounds were Auburn Alabama ....War Eagle not Roll Tide.... but in later years I did some college classes at The University of Alabama Huntsville.... are you from Alabama ?

wow....it is hard to even think of houses surviving from that long ago....we have nothing that old here in Seattle!
