@ruthmouch I tried it in B&W too because I wondered the same thing! there was something about the color that appealed to me more. I think it was his hat! Thank you for all the kind comments!
@grammyn I tried doing a SC on his hat and it wasn't nearly as good as I hoped... I think the colors in the background complement the hat and make a very good balance... the B&W with SC made the hat become the focus of the shot rather than the face and the straight B&W was just a little blah for me... even though I do love a good B&W. You definitely made the right call on this! :)
@marilyn I appreciate that support so much! I don't always know "why" I like something and you have a marvelous knack for putting it into words for me!
What a fantastic candid shot, Katy. The details and colors are amazing. I bet someone would love to have this photo that we are getting to see. You are brave to do this and so very good at it. One of my favorites of yours. You need to take more portrait shots like this. FAV
@lesip I used it to get more light on the subject so I could up the shutter speed in case they were moving a lot! It can give you a much grainier photo but sometimes it is necessary.
Nice to see you again Katy. :-)
