When I planted this dianthus the little card in the pot said it was an annual so I expected it to last the season and then die! This is the third year it has bloomed and I was very surprised to see it blossoming in January! For all my friends who still have snow on the ground here is a promise of spring for you!
@grammyn Really!? Freezing weather?! What you have are a few frosts... what we have is freezing weather, as in extended periods of temps in the teens, single digits and/or below zero... the kind of weather that kills nearly any living thing! :) I remember Marisa saying that you cleaned the frost off your window with the garden hose... if we did that we would have a shattered windshield... with lots of ice still on it! :)
This is great Katy! What a great surprise! I was a little confused earlier because you changed your profile pic on me ! I thought it was YOU but then I saw your old picture on someone else comment, so I thought it was someone else! Now I see the other picture of you in your albumn!, lol! Quit trying to confuse me Lady! Lol:)
@marilyn LOL! yes it does get below freezing! Not for weeks but I think even one night would be enough to damage plants! Our temps often get below freezing during the winter! I am not claiming to have anything near what you suffer through though. I am grateful we don't! ;~}
@ellimae So sorry about the confusion! It doesn't all change over at the same time for some reason! ;~} I am glad you like the shot! Thanks for taking the time , Ellen!
@swguevin Oh, Sheila I am so glad I posted this then! We lived in Ft Washington for four years and had three 18 inch snowfalls within a week one year when we lived there!
Hubby is miserable, coughing and his chest is really hurting, but eating a little bit and fever is down a bit. He always makes our breakfasts and dinners as he loves to be in the kitchen and is a great cook. Off to make something for me to eat for dinner. Thank you for asking.
