Nice shot, Katy. Brings back memories walking home in the rain from school with an umbrella, but with book bags that were so heavy. Her backpack looks so heavy. I would think that so many are on computers today to lessen the load.
@grammyn I am sorry to hear that you are a poor school district. Part of our property taxes go to the schools here though they found that money was being wasted or not going to the schools so increased our sales tax to give more to the schools. They change books out because one word changes and finally stopped when someone brought it to the districts attention. So wasteful. We have a well funded school district but there is so much waste. What a shame that there is no balance across our country. All should be able to have the same in school.
@grammyn You are so right, you need good teachers, parents and support from the district. I learned so much about schools when I had to stop working and pull my son out of private school in third grade. He actually got a better education but the teacher(s) were always the key. I worked so hard to make sure he graduated High School as he had a horrible math teacher Senior year.
