I was blessed to spend a week with Ruth in Beirut. She very generously opened her home and her country to me for the experience of a lifetime. I might possibly get an award for the greatest distance traveled for a meet up! 6,500 miles is a long way to go but so worth it!
There was little time for me to post while I was gone and I will try not to flood you with pictures . I took over 600, some of them rubbish, but will not post ALL of them here ;~}
This is all I took with me for luggage and it made making connecting flights so much easier.
How kind of you not to mention I was not waiting there with the dancing camels, twirling girls and news crew.....having factored in time spent waiting for luggage at the carousel.....when there was none and so i was 10 minutes late!!!!
After listening and looking at the pictures (not all of them) these two really enjoyed each others company and Ruth and her family were such great hosts! They really took care of her and they had so much fun.
I know when she got home there was some old man standing at the terminal with the biggest smile....
How great for you both. I met up with some Queensland 365ers, but that was only 2400 miles......and I was there anyway! So nice to meet people that you talk to on the computer.
Wow..what an adventure..sounds like a lot of fun. Can't wait to see ur pictures. That is really traveling light..wow..I could not pull that off with a weekend trip :)
@smithak LOL! It was am amazing time! i hope my pictures live up to everyone's expectations! Traveling light made getting through customs so much easier!
@cdonohoue LOL! If your husband sees my luggage situation it will be because YOU showed him! ;~} I am only posting a portion because there are so many and some of them are just to show my family the day to day life like traffic and types of stores!
WOW!!! That bag would only handle my Camera and Lens's!! I dont know how you pulled this one off!! But what a Blessing for Both of You!! Excited to see all the pictures!! This is just Wonderful!! :)
@ellimae I have a bridge camera so it requires less space and I ended up wearing it anyway so i could have a little more room for essentials! Thanks, Ellen! I had a fabulous time and it is only magnified by the response of so many people to my photos!
Wow, I missed your trip and have got to catch up. What a small amount of luggage you took but like you said made it easier to travel. Not sure who Ruth is though just looked above in comments and have seen her on here before. Love your photo.
I know when she got home there was some old man standing at the terminal with the biggest smile....
I take more than that for a day trip. LOL
You are Super Woman. :-)
