Strolling Down Memory Lane by grammyn

Strolling Down Memory Lane

When my mother was a baby she was pulled around in this baby stroller. The leather restraining belt has long since disappeared but the rest of it is in rather good shape. The tiny rear wheels are metal. Mom is the same age as the Queen of England.

Wow! Love the POV in this!

Amazing stroller. And is this the same one your mother had? I'm amazed about it. Thanks for sharing it.

A very neat stroller. At first I thought it was an old wheelchair

That is incredible and amazing you still have it. I can imagine The Queen was probably pulled around (by her nannies certainly not by Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon) by the exact same design. What a lovely entry for nostalgia!

Ha, who's memory?! A well preserved piece.

A real antique to still have this to photograph! Not that your Mom is antique! I would imagine it would be quite noisy over the cobbles!

looks like a wheel chair...

Quite a contraption!!!!! Just love that you still have it and it looks in working order too.

@ruthmouch Thanks. It does work except for the safety belt. This is that pack rat thing again.

Oh my goodness! What an interesting stroller and a fantastic piece of family history. It's so wonderful that you still have it.
It doesn't look very comfortable, though. I'm hoping there was once some padding on the seat. ;-)
It doesn't look very safe either. It's amazing that people survived their childhoods back then!

@pasadenarose There was a safety belt of leather that has long since worn away and I am sure the babies were bundled up in lots of blankets before they were put into these strollers. It is a treasure for me to still have this one of my mother's.
