I see big firm blueberries already ripe and more waiting to ripen. l see hot humid mornings and copious amounts of sweat as I pick them. I see fresh fruit on my cereal, juicy pies and possibly some jam. I'll bet you didn't see all of that did you?
@anazad511 Thanks a bunch, Ana! My husband planted them several years ago. The first year it had about three berries on it! I also have access to some a neighbor planted so we have plenty to use up each year.
@annied Thanks, Annie! they aren't cheap here either so I am gratedul for the opportunity to pick them. They are right at my house so I don't even have to travel to get them.
Love this! I love seeing the ripe berries along side the "getting readdy" ones. Maybe I'll get to taste something made from those beauties. (PS We plan to arrive in AL before the 4th!)
@marilyn Really? Why the change? Not upset at all of course. I feel the same way about the berries and of course you will get whatever you want made out of them.
@grammyn We are not having a "regular" Wigen 4th because of remodeling at the farm, so we decided this would be a good year to do a Bama 4th. I think we will be going to Tim's Aunt's forthe day of the 4th, but Marisa didn't know what the plans were for the night.
@marilyn I haven't thought that far ahead to be honest! The K's and F's will be in DC on a mission trip! It may be just us! this year! We might go to bed early! (;
I must say they are a lot prettier in the distance but are so yummy to have in your garden and share with a neighbor to make such wonderful desserts. Enjoy!
I was just thinking, wow, this is what we are actually eating. Wonder what other fruits or vegetables do not look appetizing up close. Are the pink ones another variety or just young purple ones?
