Most 4th of July images are about fireworks and family gathering which are great subjects but I spent time creating somthing a little different this year so that is what I am featuring today
It looks wonderful! I want some of those berries, please. And the cake looks really special, also. We didn't do a thing yesterday. Recovering from the Australian's visit. Hate to admit that - it makes me sound old. Having a b-day party for a seven year old tomorrow.
@cdonohoue I would gladly share it with you if you would just come get it! you cold even use it for the birthday party! I have had 4th's like that before and it doesn't make you sound old at all!
Nicely done, Katy. I want a piece of that cake or just the recipe, but since I would be the only one eating it, would skip on that. How did you set this up? Awesome job. FAV
The cake was just one mix divided in thirds and colored then carefully poured in a bundt pan with frosting drizzled over the cooled cake. the photo is a collage of two different shots done in Picasa.
@grammyn Thank you for your quick cake recipe. I do not have a bundt pan so that takes care of making it. I have such a sweet tooth. Cool collage. I will have to check out Picasa. Quite a few people use it. You are very welcome for the fav.
Man, I'm coming over there next year! I grilled a steak, made some cucumber, tomato, onion salad, and cooked corn. We could combine and you do dessert! Oh, and Aidan is dying to have a bundt cake (she's obsessed with the "hole" in the cake idea), so I'll show her this for motivation!
Oh dear! I'm catching up rather late - but a belated Happy 4th July to you! I like that you did something different for the day. Those all look positively yummy!
