This is posting at an angle I didn't shoot it so I am not as happy with it as I was but I am not going to try to get another shot either! It is what it is.
How cool this is, Katy. I love the color and detail you captured. Woke to a young praying mantis on our sliding screen this morning so hubby and I both tried to capture a good photo of it. I want detail like you have captured here. FAV
@darsphotos That is really very nice of you Darlene! I have to confess that my camera does all the work! My eyes are so bad with my cataracts that I need the automatic focus my camera provides. Thanks for that FAV too!
@grammyn It is you and your camera, Katy. It takes two and you know what to do to capture photos like this one. Can you see that the focus is amazing? Sorry about your cataracts. Meant to mention to you about having the surgery. My Mom had cataracts after failing her visual test at DMV. We had no idea she was having problems seeing. She had surgery, both so close together in an outpatient setting, 6 weeks apart about 2 years ago now. She does not need glasses anymore and sees perfectly. She was in and out of surgery with no problems at all. I was amazed. I just wanted to let you know as it is nerve racking to me to have surgery on eyes though my son did when he was 2, twice that year and was corrected too. He had a lazy eye.
@darsphotos Thanks, Darlene! I had Lasik surgery many years ago and wore contacts for decades before that so I am not the least concerned about my eyes.
@kwiksilver He was actually facing the top right in my photo. I am still trying to figure how it changed like this on the upload but as long as you like it I am good!
I believe that is a lacewing, if I am recalling right. I got a shot of this type...adult, and I have gotten shots of their eggs (they lay each egg on a long hair like stalk so when they hatch, they dont' eat each other), and I got a pic of their larva,t hat have "tattoos" on their heads and a pile of cottony debris and dead insects piled on their back like a snail shell..to hide. They are truly amazing creatures. Great capture
