Wonderful capture, Katy. Love the light of the sliver of the moon against the black. I keep forgetting about the six word thing and nice to know where it started.
I saw the moon like that one night. I tried a snapshot with my iphone...uh..no. Did not work. This is so effective the way you used negative space. I like how my mom used to call this just a thin "finger nail" moon.
