Not a very good image but an explanation of where I have been and where I will be for a while. My mother passed away this week suddenly and I am with my father and family. I am not sure how long I will be gone. Thanks in advance for all your well wishes and prayers.

So sorry Katy, our thoughts and prayers for you and your family. "It's hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember" May all the wonderful memories of your mother live on forever.
Oh dear Katy, so sorry about your mother's passing away. Now I was thinking that I had not seen you around and came to your page to check. Very shocked for the unexpected news.. My sincere condolence to you and yours. Hugs to you, my dear Katy.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss. I hope the comfort of being with your family helps. This is a very sweet shot of your mom- good memories for you!
This is the most amazing picture of your mom. It captures so many things....confidence, yet also vulnerability....and so many emotions on her face. I hope you are doing well, Katy! I have been thinking of you. I will be breaking out my glass elephants for your Tues shot. I may take it tomorrow though...back to go back to school from a nice , long spring break. I did a lot of phone call type errands, cleaned house, and that stuff...got alot done and rested /exercised/read. Anyway....take care.
I checked in here the other day to see how you were and I was on my phone and didn't want to write a long "hello" with tons of typos. I hope you are doing well and I'm thinking of you often. Warm hugs. :)

Sorry for making this a group response but I wanted to let each of you know how much your kind comments and warm thoughts and prayers mean to me.
My parents were married for almost 69 years and I can say with truth that they meant the world to each other. I worried about my dad because of that but he seems to be doing extremely well. Mom had been failing mentally for a while and it is a blessing she went quickly without any suffering and before she no longer recognized my dad. That would have been too difficult for him to live with. I stayed with him a month to make sure he transitioned into single life and he has adjusted well. He will be 90 later this year and is proud he can do laundry and make salads for supper. He was already doing most of the housecleaning and fixing the main part of the meal every night. He is an amazing person and I am blessed to have him for a father. He lives in a retirement community that offers many activities and services and has wonderful friends and neighbors that will continue to look out for him.
Thanks again for all the support you offered which helped make my journey easier too.
@grammyn My father and mother had a similar relationship and my mother's early passing took a lot of wind out of my father's sails. But thankfully his grandchildren, family, faith and friends helped him to not give up early. Sounds like your father has a fantastic support system-especially with a daughter like you!
Thanks Katy for the update. It's very fortunate that he is transitioning and that he has a loving daughter and supportive living community. I'll have to follow toy group to get you in my feed, so I'll head over! Take care. Loves ya. D
@grammyn Again, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. So glad you were able to spend a month with your Dad and made sure he is ok too. I am sure that meant a lot to him as well. It is hard to lose a loved one or parent to an illness like your Mom was dealing especially in the advanced stages when so much care is necessary and not knowing anyone at all occurs. Lost my Dad at that point in a nursing home. Thoughts and prayers remain with you.
Hang on to those good memories of her, I know you have many.

@olivetreeann That sounds quite familiar to our situation. Thanks Ann!
