Fly Away Home

If the superstition is true that lady bugs bring good luck then I am in for a change of fortune! For the weekly theme red.
Well I couldn't think of a person who'd deserve it more! I love this- fav!!

Oh, the composition on this one is really nice. Love the negative space and low POV. Better, though, is a good luck wish.

great negative space.

The composition is wonderful. My house has hosted several lady bugs this fall, though I don't think they have affected my luck at all. They're just free-loading.

I looked at the verses that we know so well and discovered there are several versions but the 'house is on fire' is in all of them! Poor ladybird! Excellent macro - she is really tiny!

@maggiemae The house on fire reference is because lady bugs are used in farming to control pests in the crops.Supposedly it was traditional for farmers to cry out the rhyme before they burned the fields after harvest to get rid of the pests and give the ladybug a chance to evacuate. http://www.rhymes.org.uk/ladybug_ladybug.htm
