Really not an appropriate Easter image but I am sure this wild turkey is thankful this is Easter instead of Thanksgiving. He was about 200 yards away from my daughter's house where we were enjoying some family time on the patio. We watched him walk across the road and meander in a couple of yards before a dog started heading his way and he took off flying back across the road. I hate I missed catching him in flight but am thankful to get even this shot as he was so far away.
This is a female turkey. The males are the plump ones with a big feather bloom. There are lots (and I mean many) out in the rural areas around the Bay Area. When I'm out riding sometimes you have to slow or stop to let them get out of the road.
