Back To the Future

This was from a silhouette of me done in the second grade. I outlined it on white paper, cut it out and framed it. I now have it in a room in my home.
Oh I love this, so sweet

Brilliant 1/2 and 1/2! Caught between the white of the cut paper silhouette and the white wall behind, the gray background for the silhouette looks almost abstract. But once you’re aware of the face, you can’t unsee it.

@francoise You are probably too young to remember filmstrip projectors https://pnubsehistedtech-projectedmedia.weebly.com/filmstrips-projector--parts-and-guidelines-in-using-the-various-projected-media.html but the teacher would turn it on with no film in it and we would sit between the light and a piece of paper taped to the blackboard as she manually traced our outline on the paper. Then she transferred it to black construction paper and cut it out, mounting it on a bigger piece of paper. Mine was originally black but was faded and worn so I transferred it again to white paper this time and pasted it to a dark background

@grammyn So glad you wrote the detailed explanation because I thought my memory was failing!! I remembered the original of course and thought you had altered it in some photo editing program!! Good to know what really happened!
