Brazen Beast by grammyn

Brazen Beast

As I was sitting on the front steps this fearless lizard crawled down the wall beside me, scampered underneath my relaxed legs and posed on the edge of the stairs for the longest time. Sensing I might be a source of danger he expanded his bright red dewlap several times but he would not hold that pose long enough and for me to get a shot of it. Contrary little beast!
I had to google dewlap. What a pity you couldn't get it. Seen so clearly and close, I have to think what an odd beastie he is!

I've just learnt what a dewlap is courtesy of Google. This little fella is great and he's keeping a beady eye on you. You've captured so much detail. His feet are amazing!

I thought the rose colored dewlap was part of their courting ritual to attract females. šŸ˜Š
