Wonderful tradition. We have used ours on Thanksgiving too. Not all the time though. Beautiful dish. The flowers on this dish remind me of a set my mom had from Rosenthal.
I remember my Grandmother, about the time they retired, bringing out her good china and declaring she was going to use it every day. Iām glad they were able to enjoy it.
Guess that's a thing of the past - though I still have mine. But I have a beautiful set of Christmas dishes my mom bought me and I use those on Thanksgiving and Christmas. This is a beautiful piece.
A lovely pattern. I've not been in a store that sells that sort of thing that I don't know if couples do this anymore. Although beautiful it's rather impractical. Because I was 36 when I got married I chose everyday dishes.
@madamelucy Thank yo Terri. This is actually Noritake Eden rose @shutterbug49 We probably should have done that @milaniet You are probably right.I am glad you like this one @olivetreeann I don't know anyone getting married these days that does. Thanks Ann @ludwigsdiana When I got married most young ladies picked out a pattern and then people could buy a plate or a saucer or whatever they wanted to help complete the set. Thank you Diana @maggiemae It is actually on the surface of the plate MM. Thank you and I am too! @kjarn Mine would have too if the marriage had gone first! @joansmor Thank you so much Joan @wakelys Very true but a lot of new ones have probably been started too @dutchothotmailcom Thank yo Esther. I feel ceertain very few even use fine china for anything today @randystreat I guess maybe in the finer department stores it is still done. I lived in a small town so mine came from the jewelry store. So many people live together first now that they already have everything they need before they ever get married I guess
