I passed this poor little raccoon this morning on my way out of the neighborhood and debated whether to take a shot or not. After several hours out it was still there on my way back into the neighborhood. I still passed on it. When I had to go out one more time and it was still there I decided I need to go ahead and take the shot.
@grammyn I have a bit of a, phobia is not the right word, but I hate seeing dead animals in the road because my mind immediately jumps to my dogs.........probably a hold over from my childhood. And I also pray at every roadside cross I see........silly old lady.
@cdonohoue Not silly at all! I felt really bad for the raccoon or any animal I see dead in the road and if you want silly I always wonder what their family says when they don't show up at the end of the day!
ooops..... a nasty end but at least he made it to 365.............and as to the above...that is an interesting thought (maybe I should re read Peter Rabbit!!)
Never heard Dirt Nap. Funny name. Poor little guy. I have posted a dead bird. The other day, I saw a turkey buzzard snacking on a dead deer off the side of the road. I thought about taking a pic. But was ready to get home and kept driving.
@espyetta I am not sure of the origin of the phrase. It is a debate whether it is in poor taste or not for me! Since it wasn't gory I decided it would be all right! I know that feeling about just wanting to get home and passing up a shot.
