Wow, poinsettias?! That is amazing!! Beautiful!

@sunshinephoto5 They are in a pot and were ones that had been thrown away two years ago after Christmas. I brought them home and planted them and they bloomed all by themselves this year shortly after Christmas.

@digitalrn Thank you Rick. i have been thrilled with them this year.

@jankoos They are actually in a pot that I bring in when it gets cold and this is the first time ever I have had any bloom for me. I pick up the ones that are discarded on the side of the road and can get them to grow but never bloomed before.

Katy, they look beautiful outdoors. how do you take care of them? my one from Christmas has still some leaves so I keep watering the plant. should I try and take it outdoors for the summer and if it survives bring it back in close to fall? I'm usually pretty good with plants but never tried to keep a poinsettia longer than over Christmas.

@bruni When there is no more threat of frost put it out doors and keep it watered until there is cold weather again. I keep mine in a big pot with potting soil and then bring it in during the cold winter months. this is the first one I have ever had to bloom again andit didn't start until well after Christmas but it did it on its own. I have heard there is a way to force the bloom but have never had any luck with that
